waddesdon is internationally famous for its collection of eighteenth-century decorative arts. together with important british, dutch and french paintings, it is displayed in the magnificent interiors created in the late 1800s by baron ferdinand de rothschild.

every year special exhibitions highlight aspects of the permanent collection and rothschild family history. 聽for 2015, we feature treasures from the smoking room and a trail focusing on natural materials used to create works of art. the first world war is commemorated in an exhibition of archival material. contemporary art will feature in the house with a 聽response by jane wildgoose to victorian mourning traditions, and in the gardens with 3d bedding designed by simon periton. a collaboration with the henry moore foundation will open later in the year: henry moore: 100 drawings.
