summer is here and the sun has started to shine.聽 the parterre has been planted with a beautiful summer display so it's a perfect time to come and enjoy the gardens.

our beautiful rocco style working aviary is home to some stunning exotic birds as well as extensive conservation work.
seasons in the garden
our carpet bedding theme will be a gemoetric pattern inspired by examples of fabric on display in the manor.聽 artist simon periton has designed two pieces of 3d sculpture in the form of a scalpel and ball, which will form part of the bedding display on the parterre, made up of red begonias, orange french marigolds and black petunias.聽 the rose garden will be full of flower and scent.
july and august:
the ornamental beds will be looking their best during these months, with the water plants and marginals in frog fountain looking lovely.
the wider estate
waddesdon was purchased in 1874 and is surrounded by a privately owned estate.聽 generations of the rothschild family have all made their mark on the landscape and the manor, from baron ferdinand and miss alice's planting and landscaping, to the present lord rothschild's millenium avenue of trees linking the manor with upper winchendon, and the planting of diamond jubilee wood.
community programme
as part of our community programme we issue a free season ticket to all households in the waddesdon parish, this admits two adults and upto four children into the gardens for free.
